Where We Go to Heal / Ressourcement is a project spearheaded by artist Hannaleah Ledwell. It was born from her realization that during vulnerable periods, in particular as it pertains to her own health, she would seek refuge in the memory of spaces imbued with a sense of comfort and belonging. This observation led her to explore the healing spaces of other people living with chronic illness or invisible disabilities.

Rooted in conversations between Hannaleah and the participants, this project turned into a series of oil paintings, representing the particular healing spaces of each person. The result is light-filled canvases, where bodies bloom with radiant energy. Some lie on rocks in forests, others float, weightless, in water.
