Divine Intervention aborde les réalités physiques et spirituelles liées au fait de vivre avec une maladie auto-immune, ainsi que la relation complexe que l’on entretient avec un corps qui ne peut simplement être contraint à retrouver la santé. Le diagnostic agit comme un révélateur, mettant le passé, le présent et l’avenir en relief. Pendant des années, je mesurais la réussite à ma capacité de repousser mes limites, jusqu’à ce qu’une hospitalisation m’oblige brusquement à m’arrêter et à remettre en question cette façon de vivre. Mon corps m’a forcée à confronter des schémas, des choix et des parts de moi-même que j’avais passés des années à fuir. Ce qui m’a d’abord semblé être une fin est devenu une intervention inattendue, créant un espace pour approfondir ma relation à mon corps, à mon esprit et à ma pratique artistique, et m’a finalement permis de me sentir plus moi-même que jamais.

Divine Intervention speaks to the physical and spiritual realities of living with an autoimmune disease, and to the complicated relationship with a body that cannot simply be commanded back into health. Diagnosis acts as a magnifier, bringing the past, present, and future into sharper focus. For years, success was measured by my ability to push beyond my limits, until hospitalization abruptly grounded me and forced me to reevaluate that way of living. My body demanded that I confront patterns, choices, and parts of myself I had spent years running from. What initially felt like an ending became an unexpected intervention, creating space to deepen my connection to my body, my spirit, and my art, ultimately helping me feel more like myself than ever before.
